Just as the vast majority of magic books are not worth the paper they are written on, the same applied to spells.

The truth is that what today are called ancient spells, were in fact ancient prayers.

The modern notions of magic spells are devoid of the essential components to make them work in the first place. Instead, spells rely in the claim that the words themselves in some “special arrangement” are magic, often hinged around some gobble gook made up word.

Yet this is completely against the most ancient laws of true magic spells, or more appropriately prayers. For a spell to work, it has to be invoked to some force. Secondly, because it usually relies on a request for intervention, or intercession behavior, the tone of the spell/prayer is suitably humble and praiseworthy.

So go to your “real” and “genuine” spell book and see how many of these supposed spells comply the essential framework known to the ancients for thousands of years? That’s right, very few if at all.

Sadly, once again ignorance and marketing win against knowledge and wisdom.
