Do a quick search on the internet, or walk through any alternative book shop and you will see one of the most popular areas are magic books.

Where such books were the rarest books of collectors in private libraries across Europe, there are literally thousands of magic books and many more web sites all prophessing to provide the eager student with “ancient” secrets from Egypt, Syria and Babylon.

Sadly, there are less than a handful of magic books written since 200 CE until the present day that has any real magic value. Most are fanciful writings of drug addicted authors who catered for the whims of their rich patrons.

The Grimoires for example are wonderfully elaborate fakes that have not one ounce of genuine ancient magic on a single page. Yet today, there are tens of thousands of avid black magic fans who swear they are the true black magic books.

The most recent of absurdity in believing wholly fabricated books to be real is the Necronomicon written by H.P. Lovecraft in the 1920’s. Today, there are tens of thousands of devotees who believe it to be absolutely an ancient book of spells and witchcraft.
