Many magic books used by the uninformed and the foolish amateur today are full of various curses, claiming to be powerful magic spells.

Indeed, a curse is without question one of the most powerful spells regardless of whether spoken in rote from a fraudulent spell book claiming to be magic, or uttered in anger using your own words.

There is however, one problem regarding curses that is not listed in their false books:

Simplistically, curses claim to be powerful tools for altering the life of the person to whom the curse is uttered. In fact, all curses are bindings.

A binding once actioned in effect binds your spiritual life and the person who you cursed as one. Superficially it may appear in the short term that upon a curse and the ruin of the other, the curser is free of the bind. However, it is not as simple as that. The effects may take years, even decades to appear. For what happens is that all the sorrow inflicted upon the curser must visit both houses (your and theirs) before a binding may be given a chance of release.

So long as nothing has occurred to release the bind the curse is in effect.  In the case of a great curse, the sorrow when it does arrive to the curser can be so great it can even cause the curser to be grounded in the afterlife.

An unresolved murder is another example of a binding whereby the murderer frequently curses themselves upon such evil, only to have the unleashed darkness return to them at their end, or in their afterlife, frequently keeping them earthed.

There are ways to cure a curse, but this is not to be listed here in this wisdom this time. Instead, a warning to all those who foolishly believe a curse uttered is power.  Avoid cursing yourself.
